Mr. Gentry’s Western Cultures class
Unit 6- The World Between the Wars
Assignment and worksheet (similar to quiz)
Purpose: of this assignment is for us all to gain an understanding of what was going on between World War I and World war II so we will understand why WWII happened, as well as how we can apply this to what we should be doing today.
The Assignment:
1. To be able to identify what was happening in your assigned part of the world or the culture (10) and how this would possibly lead to World War II, including the elements listed for your area/subject by the instructor.
2. Teach it to the class by placing it on a Power-Point slide or slides, which we will combine into 1 presentation to show in class. You should have some pictures to go along with your information.
3. You will work in groups of no more than 3 and will have to write a summary of how the other people did in your group and sign this. Remember I will grade, with the assumption that three people did the work equally unless you tell me differently.
The Grading:
The grade will be based on the following criteria:
1. Did the group answer all questions and identify the information asked for by the instructor correctly and completely? (20 points)
2. Did the group prepare and create the Power-Point slides as asked, and on time? (10 points)
3. Did the group have a presentation that was presented on time and with an attempt to be interesting and informative and with every member meaningfully involved in the presentation? (10 points that will not be given to non-participating members)
4. Did the members each individually work in class and not allow the other members to do all the work? (10 points that will be subtracted from those members who did not use their class time wisely)
Your Responsibility on the Day of Presentations:
1. Take notes from the presentation on the sheet given by instructor.
2. Hand in these notes for credit (10 points)
3. Get the notes back and study them for a quiz (25 points) – (We will go over them and review in class before the quiz day)
